Haveing trouble with hub and backing up!

I have my xbox connected to my pc with a hub. I have all the wires connected corectly. But i have a question! I ran the ethernet cable from the hub to the computer and i pluged it in to where my cable internet plug went. I think that is where my problem is. I do not have cable internet anymore! But i am trying to use the card the cable comp put in my computer. Can someone help me with this. i am trying to back up a game. And i am useing (ISOX CREATOR) Is there a diffrent program i need to use. When i click on that program icon it does not do anything! I am very new to this. I am use to ps2 backups! Please help!!!
