Can you back up a Swap Magic Disc?

My swap magic disc got scratched to the point where my PS2 won't read it, but it's not completely ruined (my PS2's laser is wearing out). Is there any way I can make a back up of it? Or should I try one of those Disc Dr. scratch remover type things on it? Thanks,

if you could backup the swap migic disc so it wold work you would not need it because you could self boot any game

sk8rainman, use car polish to buff out any minor scratches the disc may have.
