erasing, then froze? Well, the bios was either the wrong size, or it froze while erasing (for no reason) and busted the flashrom. You may need a new chip. same thing happened to my x-elixis chip when i tried to flash via evox...froze, then busted the flash chip.

Did you burn through the data burn method in record now max?

well i burned it to a DVD-RW, and all it does is when i put it in it flashes loading... for a few seconds, then it pops the DVD-RW back out and says insert cd with bios on it again. I buned it with Nero, then again with roxio. but times did the samething. I dont know what im doing wrong, or if it is the chip. any way to know?

Are you trying to flash through Evox or a Cromwell bios? I think you are flashing through cromwell because if I remember correctly evox doesn't eject the disc. Make sure your bios is named "bios.bin". Also what chip are you using?

I know your problem. Both Nero and Roxio are crap for apps running on the xbox, that are not in iso form.

You need to get Record Now Max and do a databurn with that program. Also need to close the disk for a better chance to read it.

Do not use CD-R. DVD-R would be great but why waste it. In my experience DVD-RW reads a little better then CD-RW but either should work fine. Speed, I don't know, some people say to burn slow but I record at max everytime with no problem. But I do suggest slower speeds till you get things working.

Just out of curiosity how did you make your dummy files and what where they named?

aaa.zip is a dummy file you dummy. There is aaa.zip which is 70mb, and zzz.zip which is another 70mb, there is a bios file which is 1mb.

just use some useless windows file as dummy file. Or don't use a dummy file at all. It will work.

open and close your tray and try to get it to read like 10 times in a row. Don't power off. I had to do that...although, i did not include a dummy.
