In theory....... right?

Since a GD-ROM is the same size as a CD but holds much more data and the same goes for a DVD, shouldn't it be possible to read a GD-ROM in any DVD-ROM drive? In theory wouldn't this work because DVDs and GDs are just CD's with a tighter set of pits and grooves? And since a DVD holds more than a GD-ROM shouldn't any DVD-ROM drive be somehow capable of reading a GD-ROM? Lemme know your thoughts...

as far as hardware goes, the gd laser is almost identical to the cd laser... it has to do with the software... so yes using a dvd like laser its possible, just not neccesarily a PC... Unless you wanna develop some software

i agree with DreamcastKev who gives a shit about whether you can in theory or whatever, if it could be done or readily/easily done then it would be , anybody on this forum with experience in the matter would agree you do the following:

1)get the cable or make it and stop complaining
2)get the images and back them up and stop complaining

waste your time if you want but i would rather be playing my games then screwing around with theories

you two are lecturing me about wasting my time when it's you two who spend 18-20 hours to rip a game using your stupid cable at 10K a second? nice point there.

to clarify i don't rip anymore i get whatever i want whenever i want at 3Mbps downstream so shove that,
DreamcastKev has two dc's one to rip with and the other to play with,

on top of that it's retards like you that screw shit up and it is people like us and others on this board that take the time to reply to you to help you out, so if you want help then be prepared to take the criticism or don't post or ask for help

and save any smart ass comments or replies for yourself because i really don't care for you to justify your previous reply

Hey guys you've got the point

The same for me. I don't give a shit to waste my time I'd rather play Counter Strike on my PC or Q3 on my DC.

Although if anyone has info about rippin' with the broadband adapter PLZ tell me !!!
(I won't ask for this further, I guess no one has the info now .... too bad)
