Maby if the stickies names were edited a bit..

Like instead of data burn method with screen shots, Changing it to burn an XBox game to a blank dvd disk with pics

Or How take a game and back it up to a disk with screen shots. I just see alot of people skipping right over those stickies.

I thought that maby it;'s beacuse they don't know what data burn is.

i sort of agree some of those stickies were made by people like me who have been in the xbox scene since day one.

data burn for example is just a name which stuck so we called it that, the main problem is now a lot of newbies are coming on to the xbox scene and they are not prepared to look for the answers.

they want the solutions now with no exceptions and because we have been here for so long they just expect us to do all the work for them.

i'm not bagging newbies heck i was one wonce ( honest) it is just that for people like me who have been around since day one. i had to spend months looking for the answers and experimenting and i just dont like people who can't be bothered to help themselves. i know wer'e here to help and i am only to happy to help but people got to help themselves some times to.
i do believe we should re-think the stickies and make them more noob friendley but i honestley don't believe that will make much difference at all. simpley because most noobies dont bother to read the rules let alone the stickeys, if they just searched the forum for 5 miniutes they would find the answers 95% of the time.

well that was my weekley rant over with and i appologise if this kinda went off topic but i have realy strong feelings about this subject.

I agree 100%

Before I even considered modding I read more tutorials than I care to admit. I wanted to get as much info as I could possibly get. I then when I was bit confused about a specific point I then posted a question.

I don't understand why people just expect someone to answer there every question, I don't think they realize how many times people have went over and over and thats why they made FAQ's and stickies although ignorance is not an excuse

I`m still a newbie myself, but i also took the time to download all the tutorials first ( i burnt them to CDrom and read them all at work !! ) I dont mind asking the odd question, ( hell i even know how to use the search button ), i`ll even help when i can, but i still get i little peeved, when you see a question like, " i just got an X-box, what button turns it on ?? "

Dude, preach it like it is brother - amen.

He's right. The names on those posts aren't the problem. If you changed them to "the meaning of life" or "secrets of immortality" they still wouldn't be read.

Well Devil - I'm afraid you have discovered the truth (I hope it sets you free! ) those people only care about THEM and THEIR problems trying to rip off their local video store - not the scene. They don't care if you answered it 100,000 times either because it's easier to post a question than look for answers yourself.

The internet lets EVERYONE be heard so you gotta realize their are a lot of careless idiots out here.

i actually read through posts so that i'm not saying what has been said before a million times and end up looking like a complete **** because of it . I don't have a clue what what the stickys are saying but thats because my mind is simply being simple but it's here for my future reference in case i become a bit more complex or actually want to know the sticky stuff please don't hurt me i'll be quiet now

No one will hurt you lol,

I don't think it's really where they are stuck it's more in how the present it. Dudes I just bought an exucutor2lite now what do I do?? You know or hey how do you burn a Xbox game to dvd, those are the questions that drive people mad.

However when I first started there were a lot of patient people here, Quall999 and RMS 2001 and Jive and Headly that were very helpfull they ususally wouldn't answer a question but would guide me to a good tutorial, and if I was really stuck they would help me.

well DM that's what were here for. if some one needs help they get it. of course people will ( and me) gripe about posts cropping up time and time again but we always give the answer in the end. i would just like people to appreciate that most of the questions have been asked and answered several dozen times already.

well that's all i gota say on this matter .
