the magic issue (charlie help)

I hope you can get to the bottom of this certain games not booting issue with the magic 2 as its starting to do my head in my tests have proven to me that it def dose not play them all today i fitted 3 magics the six games i had laid about at home that had not booted on other magic installs failed to boot on all 3 machines. All six booted in a v6 messiah 1 console so i thought f**k it im going to find out the truth i took one of the magics out and swapped for a messiah 2 and all six booted its just nobody seems to belive me anyways i only started this whole thing off to try and help people decide on the better mod , no finacial gain for myself whatsoever , anyway when you get round to testing i think you'll come up with the same results because theys just no explaining it to me , see a couple of people have said well that game works for me but its if its the same rip (released by the same group or its the pal\ntsc version or if its a game ripped by the person themselfs) so it all gets a little confusing

Sounds to me like that just PROVES which is the better chip...

List the 6 games in dispute psxuk. I'll send you mine and you send me yours and we'll test on each others machines, then publish the results here.

You mentioned 007 and GT3. I have working copies of both (dvd-rips) which work with both magic 2 and 3.

I can't explain why the games don't work on your machines, all I can say is the ones I have are good for me!

I'm using magic clones, all the bad press concerning original magics makes me think they are better than the original!

there r so many diff magic2 out there its hard sort it out
there should b 20 diff names by now for magic2

on the games dont boot maybe his are dvdr straight copies yours are rips this could explian why 1 lot boots the others dont

swap those games round give it a test the results will be interesting

We have already discussed this m8 - we both have dvd rips. As for the different variations of magics having dif names, The magic 3's I have are called 'super v3' lol. I'll use them this week & let you know if I think they are super.

Craig are yours ripped personally or are they the released rips by the cracking groups (kalisto , miracle , ect) as the groups often release pal versions ntsc versions & multis so its hard to tell if you have the same rips , also as bg as said there's lots of clones the first batch i had claimed to be offical magic 2 on a green pcb the last lot where matrix 2 clones on a multi pcb , so when peeps are saying this game works for me its hard to tell if its the same release i know we are having this same debate on another forum as well craig but all i want to do is get to the bottom of it all. The only FACT i know is all 450 backup's of my m8's work flawless on messiah console's and lots don't with magic 2 , all his backups are group release's non are not personally backed up by an individual

Good points psxuk. Sorry I dont know who crackz em m8. I buy from a reliable supplier, and, I suspect they are cracked personally because another issue has been raised previously.

With regards to no solder mods not booting games over 650mb. I have a copy of 7 blades at 730mb which boots fine with no solder mods! (Omg lets not start another argument lol).

I can only quote my experiences, the game above boots as I state (along with several others over 650mb) and the games you struggle with boot fine on my magic 2 and 3's.

I think the issues are been combined, there is def some crap magic clones around, but, you will notice two types of peeps. Those that totally slate the magic chip and those that say it is wonderful! Well maybe you should find out where the good ones are coming from!
