first of all, DC games still can't be "copied". the files have to be transfered via serial port or BBA and a disc manually built. the discs still can't be read by any available PC drive, no matter how you turn it or how you hack it.
the DC discs run WITHOUT bootdisc, in fact. however, they boot due to a bug. the DC runs the so-called MIL cd format, which is a karaoke cd with a data track. the DC will execute the program on the data track if the cd is in the MIL format.. or a "faked" one, like the DC backups.. audio track(s) and a data track following it.
however, none of that applies to PS2. the DC had no cdr protection AT ALL. THAT's why it plays cdr without mod chip. the psx and ps2 DO have an active anti-cdr protection.


second, that question has been asked ALOT of times. simply using the search function or even just reading back some pages would have answered your questions. that's why I got somewhat pissy.
