goto http://go.to/gamefix and get the aoe2 1.0b cracked update file, but after that, get the real update from http://www.microsoft.com/games (should be somewhere around there), and then run the real update to update ur version of the conquerors to 1.0b, then after that, get the age2_x1.exe file from the cracked update and stick it into ur program files/microsoft games/age of empires ii/age2_x1/ directory to overwrite the previous one. now u can play w/o the cd on both single player and multiplayer.
