You dont dont always need a mod chip you can buy a boot CD which will boot your backups. I have written about this in a previous post today, so always have a hunt around in previous posts as there is a lot of info out there on this subject you just gotta look 4 it and read, but anyway to get a boot c.d or a modchip goto ####://www.kanection.co.uk/
and look for the PS X Change CD
