The mods (and other people including me) get 'pissed off', because you post a meaningless message just 24 hours after your last, just to keep your little thread at the top of the board. Presumably you do this because you never bother to read further back than one page and you fear other users are equally lazy, so you'll just have to shove the thread back in their ungrateful faces.
This board has its threads sorted on date/time of last reply, PLUS it has a handy icon in front of the threads which indicates whether a new message was posted in that thread since the readers last visit. Personally, I use it like it's meant to be and each time I visit the site, I read all threads with interesting subjects which have new replies, even if I have to go back two or more pages to see all threads with new messages. If some people don't go back a page, that doesn't give you the right to spam meaningless messages just to get your favorite thread back to top. Do this only and only when you haven't got any new answer for a week and you are desperate to get some help. If everyone started to do this, it would become impossible for anyone to find the threads with a real new reply between all the threads with 'bump', 'renew', 'come on, people' etc....
Maybe you didn't know how impolite and annoying this was, so I'll just leave it at this. If all this sounded a bit angry, bear in mind that you DID annoy me
In the future, whenever you have a great idea like 'What if I just bumped my thread ? Then everybody has to read it ! what a great idea !', just pause and consider what chaos would break out if everyone did it. Now I am not a moderator, but I do try to help people out and that means trying to read as many threads as possible. I can't read them all, so I just read the subjects and see if it's interesting. Imagine what it's like for moderators, who are supposed to keep an eye on every thread ?
Well, I'm done ranting... Just don't do it anymore and we'll be fine, ok ?
