Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2 (DVD9 to 1xDVD5) 1 Language

1) Make 'temp' folder

2) Copy DVD9 contents to 'temp' folder

3) Extract 'BFBC2_1xDVD5.7z' contents to 'temp' folder

4) Launch re-compress.bat, select your language & wait...

5) Edit 'localization.ini' in 'support' folder under [LOCALES] label,
put a space character to front every row of others languages entries

6) Burn or make iso with label name of your choice

thanks peterf1999. DVD9 to 1xDVD5 works great.

@ all
DVD5 size ~ 3.74 gb

c2+c3 ~ 828 mb

edit localization.ini like this (For italian conversion, i put a space character to front all rows except italian one):
Code:

[LOCALES]
 de=1
 en-us=1
 en-uk=1
 es=1
 fr-fr=1

it=1
 ja=1
 pl=1
 ru=1

Its simple,like this for english:

Code:

[LOCALES]
 de=1
en-us=1
en-uk=1
 es=1
 fr-fr=1
 it=1
 ja=1
 pl=1
 ru=1

everyone that has issues with following peter's conversions. EASIEST thing to do, change your environment setting ( where the temp folder is to another drive )

goto control panel --> system settings --> advanced tab --> environment variables at bottom. CHANGE the ones at the top for current user profile & under system variables at the bottom. CHANGE the TEMP / TMP folders to another drive. ( the TEMP folder has to exist before changing it first. ) I use another HD that has 2-300GB freespace on it. Rather then using my OS system drive, make it so much easier to delete everything in that 1 folder then having to scroll down thru windows folders. NEVER run into problems with running out of space ever again, because temp folder isnt on system drive.

Nice job Peter, worked first try. Eng only dvd5 leaves 500+ MB on dvd for extras, etc...

By the way; do i have to delete cab_temp?

:confused:The cab_temp folder is deleted automatically by the batch,however
you can delete it manually

Don't worry, if your c2.cab+c3.cab size is ~ 828 mb

Untick the read only attributes of c2.cab & c3.cab original files at end of step 2, and then continue the conversion.

Don't use autorun.dat from 2x DVD5 conversion, use the original one!:D:p;)
