1: Install The Game,All Updates,ALL DLC's

2: FreeArc need to be installed on your system

3: Download attachment Portal2 2xDVD5.rar,extract completely (wherever you want)

4: Go to install directory,run FreeArc,compress the following files

all files folders ( expect portal2 folder)



Output archive: Data1.cab

Compression: HDD-speed: -m1 -s8m

Make exe: Not checked

5: Go to install directory/portal2,run FreeArc,compress the following files

Code:

all folders



Output archive: Data2.cab

Compression: HDD-speed: -m1 -s8m

Make exe: Not checked

5: Go to install directory/portal2,run FreeArc,compress the following files

Code:

all files (expect folders)



Output archive: Data3.cab

Compression: HDD-speed: -m1 -s8m

Make exe: Not checked

7: Move Data1.cab,Data2.cab to DVD1 folder...Move Data3.cab DVD2 folder

8: Burn or make iso with same label names of temp folders

Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2

Portal 2 Update 1 to 16 incl. DLC.

Finished Size DVD2: 3.79GB
Data3.cab: 3.79GB

Finished Size installed: 10.7GB

Note: my dvds smaller may result because of reduced quality .bik video.;)

Can somebody please help me?
I bought Portal 2 from a retail shop a while ago, but when I try to install it I get the message "Key is already in use".
I can't take it back to the shop since the retailer does not take back opened games.
And steam simply tells me I should buy a new key.
Is there a way to install this game without steam? I do not want to spend another R400 on a new copy... And I do not want to pirate the game or download a Pirated copy on the web, since I've already got a original copy.
Any help will be appreciated.

original retailer doesnt accept opened games, then take screenshot & take that with game back to them proving you cant install the game as 'key in use' they 'may' issue a new key
but its strange that you get key in use, unless when you un-installed it you didnt de-activate your key, hence thats why you get key in use now...
