Dark Sector (Retail English)

1. Make 2 temp folders
2. Extract all files from ISO to first temp folder.
3. Extract files from the Attachment 913 file to first temp folder, say yes to overwrite.
4. Run repack_cabs.bat file. (needs additional 5 GB of space)
5. Wait until its complete. Delete the following 6 files from temp folder:
(repack_cabs.bat, MediaBuild40.dll, make_list.bat, list.ini, ISTools.dll, ISCAB.exe)

6. Move data3.cab to temp folder 2
7. COPY all files/folder EXCEPT data1.* & data2.cab to temp2 folder
8. Edit autorun.inf in temp2 folder change as below.

Code:

[AutoRun]

I don't get it. Can someone explain this to me in detail? :(
Win7 / WinXP

first of all, the game has to be installed.
Then you need latest version of freearc installed in your system.

make a temp folder on your HD ( not in gamefolder ) extract 'DS_DVD5.7z' to the temp folder.

then follow steps 2-6. step 7 ( already have game installed ) but use freearc and compress the contents of the gamefolder using the settings from the screenshot. DONT save the DS_arc.exe file in gamefolder, choose the temp folder as location to save the file.

So only DS_DVD5.7z and DS_arc.exe should be in the temp folder, right?

pakrat2k2 30-06-2012 08:08

no the contents of DS_DVD5.7z & DS_arc.exe will be in TEMP folder

pakrat2k2 30-06-2012 09:04

sounds right

pakrat2k2 30-06-2012 09:10

sounds like you have duplicates

the folder you want is the dark sector folder + subfolder

Deleted Junkposts.
EDIT: Beginning this from the start.
So where to extract dvd9 and when to replace with DS_dvd5.7z?

pakrat2k2 30-06-2012 09:34

make temp folder on HD, then subfolder Dark Sector in temp folder
Copy all content from DVD9 to 'temp\Dark Sector'
remove all files from temp\Dark Sector\redist\directx
Extract & overwrite all content of 'DS_DVD5.7z' to 'temp\' NOT temp/dark sector
Run repack.bat ( right-click run as admin )
then follow step 6 & 7

Seems that I had a repacked release 5.63 GB, which my friend gave me. Can you direct me to a torrent/approximate size of the disc which is used in this guide?

JacksMafia 04-10-2013 19:27

i made the repack right but DS_arc.exe doesn't lunch auto i have to run it manually and point it to the folder
why is that?
