The Witcher Enhanced..Relief!!

No-DVD released for the Witcher Enhanced....antistarforce:D

TRV 21-09-2008 02:47

After installing Patch 1.4 (EE) you don't need a DVD anymore for playing the game.

EMPiRE 21-09-2008 04:03

@ zellar: Why not sending it in @ http://ul.gamecopyworld.com. This way more people will get it as most do not read russian!

wolfsrain 21-09-2008 07:25

The Enhanced Edition is protected by Tages. Dunno what happens if you update from the normal to EE through the game forum account.
Also I've submitted the crack for EE made by Skid Row. Not tested, so don't ask me if it works. Too busy to check it.

zellar 21-09-2008 07:45

It has been sent in. Also if you Google antistarforce and click on (Translate the Page) All will be seen on the antistarforce site!!! Google is your friend.....:D

wolfsrain 21-09-2008 08:30

I'm not talking about the russian crack. And trust me that i know about antistarforce. i'm talking about the Skid Row's crack. And Google it's my friend since the beginning. Also compared to RuGCW, the antistarforce site looks more like a warez site and not like a site that hosts cracks for legitimate users, that have bought their games and not pirated.

nando2002 21-09-2008 08:46

I've downloaded patch 1.4 and you can only apply the patch if you successfully login.

wolfsrain 21-09-2008 08:56

So a crack is not needed if you update the original version to the Enhanced Edition?

nando2002 21-09-2008 10:20

correct!

Joe Forster/STA 21-09-2008 12:44

But you can only upgrade if you authenticate online or something, correct? (Don't have the game myself.) In this case, the cracks hosted on GCW are against the current policy (of hosting cracks for media-based copy protections only) and should be removed.

[...] Oh, or 1) the Enhanced Edition (freely downloadable addon, v1.0) itself is still copy protected and 2) there's a patch for it (freely downloadable update, v1.4) that removes the copy protection from it (as well as the original game that is still accessible)?

nando2002 21-09-2008 13:03

The patch 1.4 doesn't have protection - checked with PiD.
When you buy the game you must register yourself as a game owner in the official website.
When you patch, it goes online and check if you're an owner - if you're not registered then you must do it or you can't patch.
The protection removed in the patch is like a gift for the owners.

If you buy the new Enhanced Edition, then you have the solidshield protection and you need the crack.

So...
Retail Enhanced Edition has DVD check protection.

But the original retail version updated to EE has no DVD check.
(but update itself needs online verification)

Right?

wolfsrain 21-09-2008 21:50

It seems so. Also, though you get some of the extra content(OST and some of the"Making of" movies), you won't have it all and certainly the movies won't be on a DVD, but will be encoded with wmv. The so called patch, is the upgrade for the people which actually bought The Witcher when was released

voodoo_nbgd 23-09-2008 08:32

There is also a way to apply the upgrade patch without activation check, but I will not speak of it here. I do have an original copy of Witcher, but I'm sick of this depending of internet connection.
