Gears of War

Ok, so I tried getting the nocd fix for Gears of War, it's a trouble switching from COD 4 to GOW discs continuously so I just said "to hell with it" and got both cod4 and gow nocd files.

COD4 went smooth, so I'm happeh, but Gears of War is giving me troubles.

I got this one http://m0008.gamecopyworld.com/games...VD/Fixed%20EXE

So I just copied the startup.exe and went to overwrite it.

...
...
...

...so... where is it I should overwrite it?

This is my installation location... or so I can understand:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\

And I check all subfolders (Binaries, Engine, Wargames) and their subfolders in turn etc etc.

But to no success, I can't find any Startup.exe ... I tried using search, but my searching skills are messed up for some reason or other.

I'm on Windows Vista, and even though it doesn't matter, I satisfy all requirements, and I'm on a laptop (toshiba satellite a200)

I hope you can direct me to the right place :(

thanks and sorry >.<

I can confirm for a fact that startup.exe is not present in the Gears of War folder... should I reinstall or something...?

might be an idea

Ok, right at this moment, I'm trying one other thing. I went to my installation directory, and deleted all 3 folders (Binaries, Engine, Wargames).

I went to my installation discs and copied out the same folders within
D:\program files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\

And pasted them over to the installation directory. Now I noticed that in these files, I have much more files, and I'll simply overwrite startup.exe within the Binaries folder with the nodvd fix.

I hope it works out well.

Will edit with information

EDIT 1: So far it seems to have budged. I am installing the driver updates for my graphic card. If it works out, I'll redit and point it out for future reference (maybe)
