PC works really really slow when Dvd-Burn
In the last few days I have problems with my Pc.When I am trying to burn a Dvd with Nero it is being burnt with a speed no more tha 1,5X and also the whole system at that time seems to be really slow.Even when a song is played on winamp it stops and starts.I have a Liteon Dvd-RW.
Of Course I am not sure if it is a Dvd-R problem. It may be a Ram problem or whatever else, that's why I am asking.I have 2GB of Ram and Windows Xp UE. |
Most probably the DVD drive fell back into PIO mode. Check it in the Device Manager and read this M$ KB entry: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817472.

The PC will naturally slow down a bit during a burn on some systems as its using resources for the buffer being used.
Ideally you dont want to be doing anything when burning a disc or you may end up with alot of coasters. Also check that the writer is not sharing the same IDE channel as your main hard drive. Alot of people do this thinking it will be better but it isn't. Also make sure your page file isnt stupidly set high (should be 1xRAM size upto 2xRAM size). And make sure your actuall RAM is of the same speed and CL level, the lower the number the better. |
