ps2 Apple Mod chip does not play dvd-r backups
 

help, my Playstation 2 scph-39006 with Apple Mod chip does not play dvd-r backups...

it can play cdr backups though, like AR max and ps1 games.

already tried:

•Press EJECT button to switch on the machine.
•Insert PS2 game in tray, then press EJECT button to close tray.
•Once the tray closes fully, press/tap the RESET button once to load game

and I am certain my unit has a modchip.

I have used Nero, Alcohol, and DVD Decrypter but no luck.

Try a movie burned onto a dvd-r. Has it played dvd backups in the past??

Could be the laser is on its way out.

yes, the movies with same dvd-r brands plays fine...

though I have to press reset for 2 secs to play dvds or ps1 games.

It sounds like the chip is working correctly. My guess is a burn issue. Nero should be fine for burning just be sure 'error correction' is set to abort. If its a dual layer game it must be patched to load when using a Apple modchip. Do a search on 'Toxic DL Patcher' if needed :)
