Black and White Screen while playing backups
 

When I play back-up games on my PS the screen, on most games, is black and white. Do anyone know why this is, and what I can do?

Because your playing an NTSC game on a PAL machine.

You can either have your PS1 modchipped.

or.

Buy a Scart (AV1) connecter from PS1 to TV.

I have a modchip in my PS1.

Is it still possible that it is ntsc games? What if i patch the games i burn, will that do the trick?

Must be a old modchip you have.

But you can find NTSC-PAL patches at megagames under console game fixes.

Where do you got the games from?

Didn't read the forumrules for this site, but this probably isn't legal in here. I download the games from the net. Some work fine, some become black and white, and some are without sound.

One other thing. I had some old backups which I tried now when I picked the psx up from the basment yesterday, and these games worked fine when I played psx some years ago, but now most of them are black and white. Why the change? Has modchip crashed? is that possible?
