ADSL Eclipse on Vista
 

Hey guys.

A friend of mine has recently bought a laptop and also an eclipse broadband connection with an ADSL modem on a wireless router.

He seems to be having problems connecting to a lot of webpages (i.e myspace, hotmail etc will not display) even with a strong connection. I have tested the laptop on my own connection (cable) which is also on wireless and had no problems whatsoever =S.

I was wondering if any of you guys could help or have any suggestions of how to 'sort it out'.

Probably the phishing protection on IE7, tell him to try with it off.

That is why I don't use IE . Damn slow pile of crap

Is he playing music? I ask because when you play music on vista, you lose like 70% of your network speed. Add that to IE's natural slowness, and you have a big pile of frustration.

I dislike vista because it is slow as heck.

Yeah another slowing cause is the constant HD access as it tries to defrag in real time.

What a useless idea that is lol

And any file movement, be it copy and pasting etc takes longer under vista as it checks every single bit of data when shifting around.

And recent updates has removed the fix for that (their own fix I may add!)
