Xbox 360 NME-360 v1.2
Hi I heard the Xbox 360 NME-360 v1.2 is the best chip out there!!! Can you play your backups on live with this chip?? Any reviews out there? Has anyone tried this chip yet or the Xbox 360 Fractal 360?
Thanks in advance |
Get your xbox flashed with xtreme instead. Cheaper and better in my opinion.
|
Man I would but it seems hard...I put my chip in my ps2 so i'm more confident with ps2. I mean if I put my info for my xbox you think people will help me out to update my firmware?
|
I almost forgot....Can I play my backups online with this chip or with the updated firmware?
|
i havent done research on this chip thing
but my bet is by play online its probably xbox live = no xbox connect = yes |
That sucks!!!
Well can play backups online if you moddify your firmare??? How hard is it to moddify your hardware??? Thanks for the help family;-) |
Currently you can play on live with all backup solutions.

Chips are a waste of time & money...
Flashing the existing 'chip' :p is the MUCH better option IMHO. |
The only time they won't be a waste is when MS starts banning from Live. If you have a chip and also play online with the hacked firmware, then your chip is also useless.
Unless you plan to never go online with a backup, a chip is pointless. I would still get a chip though, and then not play online. Risking a ban online is not worth selling my console for hundreds less and then buying a new one. |
Well as it currently is there is no way for MS to detect wether the firmware is modified or not. The firmware is not signed so they can make a hashbase to compare to. However with Stealth Firmware and xTreme 5.0+ it has the same hash.
I doubt that MS has a way to, if they had the possibility to do it they would've done it already. |
I doubt that MS has no way of detecting. They have complete control over the machine's kernel. They can add in any code they want to detect, scan, and request anything from known devices.

He has also implented a hack that makes the firmware have the same hash as the original one when dumped. More over since the firmware in the dvd-reader is not signed MS will have problems there too. I know that they have complete kernel control, however if it where possible I wonder why it hasn't been done yet. Sure it was done on some Samsung X360's with a certain manufacturer date, however Commodore4Eva solved that one real quick (the E66) with a little differenf FW hack. |
OK OK..now i'm confused here!!!
You guys are telling me that I can't play online with out modifying my FW?? Even if I put the chip? That means that I should just modify it then to buy a chip!! Well do you guys know some sites where I can buy new modified systems that will play online? They have to have good experiance and not to expensive please:) Thanks for all your help!! |
The modchips out just replaces the current chip on the dvd drive. You can switch between the two. You can choose to not use a modchip and flash the dvd drive instead. The benefit of the modchip is so that you can always fall back to the original flash chip on the dvd-drive. If you flash the drive, then there is nothing to fall back to. It is up to you if you want a chip or not.
You can play online either way. MS is not currently banning people using modified dvd firmware. |
