Rainbow Six - Vegas

My VideoCard Supports only Pixel Shader 2.0
is there a way to run RB6 - Vegas without Pixel Shader 3.0?

chron 22-12-2006 07:31

no

(Wrong forum, moved.)

Contact the publisher with your problem. (And, next time, read the system requirements before buying anything!)

Cant see that he told us that he bought the game????? Just asked the forum a question, lighten up....

TippeX 28-12-2006 04:38

if he bought the game, the requirements are on the box
if he didnt then its a warezed copy, so he'll at best get banned

either way.. 'lightening up' is not required, joe was spot on...

would you buy a petrol car and then put diesel in it...
point made i think...

Joe Forster/STA 28-12-2006 06:00

Nope, hud1973 meant that the original poster might only be planning to buy this game (and might not buy it - or get a pirated copy, for that matter - if it's not supported by his current video card).

RB6 Vegas

I only asked
"is there a way to run the game without pixel shader 3.0"
i don`t have a illegal copy and i have not bought the game.
I want to know only,if the game run`s without Pixel shader 3.0.

Grumpy 28-12-2006 10:33

@Thc
Unfortunately if your card doesnt support Pixel Shader 3 then you wont be playing this game.
There is no work around fix for it.

You will need to buy a new card. :(

I am in exactly the same boat as you! :(
Not that I am interested in this game but it does bother me that Ubisoft plan to go this way for all their future games.

Joe Forster/STA 28-12-2006 13:15

In 2 years, you'll have a better video card. By then, this game will cost 5 dollars/euros in all game shops and the last patch will remove the copy protection, too. HAHAHA! :D

Problem with GeForce 6600

Hi!
I've installed RaimbowSix Vegas. The game is not very fluent, but i can play...
My 'only' problem is i can't see fire, explosion, smoke etc..
I tried to set all the options but nothing, maybe is my video card?

My PC:
Win XP SP2
INTEL Core Duo E6300
1 giga di RAM
GeForce 6600 (Forceware 78.01)

Any idea?
(sorry for my bad english..)

Grumpy 09-01-2007 17:43

The 6600 should be ok with this game.

voodoo_nbgd 10-01-2007 04:56

Maybe fire, explosion and smoke effects require Agiea physics card (since Unreal 3 engine uses Agiea and those effects are now so realistic they will cause severe fps drop when running in software mode)? Or maybe the game detects your card as the member of GeForce 6 family and turns off those eyecandy things... GeForce 7 series have many optimizations, e.g. Oblivion runs fine (with the grass turned on) on 7300GT but "chops" on 6600GT, no matter these cards are pretty much the same (speaking of speed)...

ozzylaos 10-01-2007 06:39

thank's for the answers!

But i updated the drivers and now the game works fine!!
Just update from Forceware 78.01 to last available on Nvidia website..
:)

But the game is so slow...
:(

maybe i need i new vga...

voodoo_nbgd 10-01-2007 16:12

Why don't you use the latest 93.71 drivers?

edit: Pardon, now I see he said "FROM 7x.xx", not "TO 7x.xx" :)

DABhand 10-01-2007 20:11

The guy said he updated from that revision to the latest on the nvidia site.

The reason it could be slow is your 1GB Ram maybe being used elsewhere also at same time.

And/or the graphic options have been set to high. Turn off shadows.
