NoCD-Crack is not shutting down Hitman Blood Money
Hi,
I'm using the No-CD crack for Hitman Blood Money v1.2 (look here: download ), it's working fine, there are no problems with starting the game. But when exiting the game, sometimes the process HitmanBloodMoney.exe is not shutting down, when I switch to task manager, I can see that it is still running in the background, consuming almost 30% of my system's memory! Could you please confirm this behaviour on your system, so that I can be sure that it is not a specific problem only on my computer but a bug in the crack itself? Thanks in advance! Greetings Mister Floppy |
Try it without the crack; try it on another PC (friend, neighbor, school, work place etc.). Also, read the forum FAQ for a few ideas on general gaming problems (updating drivers etc.).

More probably the system taking its time to close all the resources the game was using.
From dll's, to virtual space, etc On machines with little memory left it will take time. |
Yes, it might be possible that, upon exiting the game, the system sucks back data from the swap file chunk by chunk into the memory and only then lets the software exit. This occurs when the software uses a lot of memory (perhaps, in a lot of separately allocated chunks?). Anyway, this should occur with the original EXE, too!

Over the years I've assembled some reg tweaks that might be worth trying. Now the one that I think might make a difference is the Always Unload dll. Default is 0, but if changed to 1 you can save on some memory space. If you don't want the other tweaks, just open with text editor and delete them, but they are all good :) (there's only I think 5 of them) Tweaks.rar (unrar and you get a reg file) Might be worth a shot. And is 30% really that much? How much ram do you have? And I guess if all else fails, then just end it manually. Guess there's nothing else you can do and I don't think more ram will help either. |
