Command & Conquer: The First Decade (DVD9 to 2 DVD5's)

I used ReWritable DVD's to test though, and this was doing a COMPLETE 9.8GB install

1. Copy everything except the DATA8.CAB to DATA14.CAB files to one DVD. You don't need a volume label for either DVD.

2. Copy the DATA8.CAB to DATA14.CAB files, launcher.dat and the 'support' folder to the second DVD.

3. Install from the first DVD and when asked 'Please insert disk 7 that contains the file data8.cab' insert the second DVD and continue installing

Gb??

When making the first dvd, all files except data8.cab and data14.cab

it gets around above 7gb... so how can an DVD5 take 7gb... =/

All files except data8.cab and data14.cab is ~7gb..

data8.cab is ~81MB
data14.cab is ~ 650MB

Together ~731MB..

The DVD two goes for around 731MB?

Can't I fill the second dvd with more CAB files so the first cd get bellow 4.7GB?

I did like this.

First DVD rom.

I made one Image (DVD one) with all files except of these files:

**************
From 8 to 14.

data8.cab
data9.cab
data10.cab
data11.cab
data12.cab
data13.cab
data14.cab

***********************************************
Second DVD Rom

Then i made an second image (DVD Two), I kopied these files:

Support (Directory)
launcher.dat

AND added the remaining cab files.

From 8 to 14.

data8.cab
data9.cab
data10.cab
data11.cab
data12.cab
data13.cab
data14.cab

*********************************************''

Both DVD got about ~4gb each.
It got perfect for me thought.

@tigersaid

What you have done is exactly what BarryB said to do. You just didnt read it properly.
Barry's conversion says:
Quote:

1. Copy everything except the DATA8.CAB to DATA14.CAB files to one DVD.

2. Copy the DATA8.CAB to DATA14.CAB files,
It says 'to' not 'and'. ;)

I'd like to add a correction here: Support and launcher.dat should also be on the first DVD, not on the second. Launcher.dat launches the install, while in support are some of the files needed to insert the serial numbers.

You will notice Barry said to 'copy everything' which includes copying both the Support and launcher.dat to the first DVD. ;)

hey guys, hope u still are on this site, this installs fine, but when u pick any game after the first 2 it asks to insert correct disk no matter which one is in....any help?

pakrat2k2 03-09-2011 08:59

easiest thing to do is add the no-cd for each of the games to dvd2 iso ( available at gamecopyworld )

Double check you have the correct files on each dvd, re-read instructions to make sure you understand them..

Set compatibility to windows 7 & add administrator rights for the setup.exe
