Metal Gear 2 substance doesn,t show anything on my notebook
 

As title says, i was playing this game on my old pc, now i bought notebook with intel 915 gm/gms graphic card , i just hear game sound with black screen, i checked last.log file and it contains the following, can some one declare to me what is the problem is and how to solve it please :

sorry to say but this game is one of the shittiest ports in gaming history, you wont be able to play this game with this integrated intel gfx chip its just not possible, and there is unfortunatly nothing you can do to change that, you would need something around the geforce 3,4 or fx(it works but crashes like mad on fx cards) to play this game, it wont even work well with ati chips or anything newer than a fx, i can't get it to work on my 6600gt either.

Well it seems that game check for graphic card even it is able to run then will not allow to draw anything, anyway here is the registration file i have made to configure the game to be suitable for your graphic card (i mean make the Mgs2configure work)

well thanks , i would try it but i sold the game long ago ,i thought it was just not worth the hassle ,i bought the ps2 version instead.

I made a little patch for GeForce (FX/6/7 series mostly) and ATI All-In-Wonder users which fixes graphical problems. Check the Metal Gear Solid 2 entry on gamecopyworld. You'll need to have 2.0 patch installed before applying this patch.

For Intel IGP users, you can patch the executable by yourself. The thing is to force the game to use Radeon graphics path by changing the identifier in the EXE file (Radeon path, introduced in patch 2.0, works on all cards and does not produce missing models and other graphic elements even on GeForce). E.g. for All-In-Wonder adapter, RADEON identifier (located at 0x5F6E44 in mgs.exe) should be replaced with "ALL-IN", and for GeForce, it should be replaced with "GeForc" and the following GeForce string should be replaced with anything else. Unfortunatelly, I don't know the identifier for Intel IGPs, but you can experiment with "Intel " or something and try by yourself. Good luck.

i bought the game yesterday and i cannot play due to the same reason. i feel really desperate about this situation.
is there a way to play with an intel chipset.. graphics card?
if there is not, do you know if a patch will come for this?:(

the voodoo fix works, but only if i pass the video intro

Not all games have Dual/Quad CPU support.

goto www.dlh.net and look at the patch section you can find both the Gforce and ATI fixes there I believe.
