Error Code 6
 

Hey guys
long time no see i got an xbox that my gf cuz asked me to look at the dvd rom stopped working on it so ive replaced that and now im getting aw error code 6 problem i know its to do with the hdd but how do i fix it. i have put the hdd in my xbox and works perfectly. Help would be nice its been a while since ive done any xbox or ps2 repairs so i need some help

Is her box modded? If it is not, then the error is coming from her HDD somehow being unlocked. That would also be why it works in your xbox. Hot swapping is the only way to fix this issue unless you mod her box.

sorry dude its error 7 i was being stupid and forgot. HDD Timeout thats the one =]

yeah i just chipped it but im awaiting to put the bios on the chip which is on the hdd arghhh

how do i burn it to cd again, shh its been a while since ive done anything like this.

and the yes its been a while, basically i got bit bored of xboxs and ps2s mine broke and lost interest and i was asked to help out so i did. But its good to see that old timers are still around wheres trigger happy these daysa?

Well, if the chip is new then it probably has the newer bios. It should support HTTP flashing if you can put the xbox on a network or hook it directly to your PC via a cross cable. I have always used a record now data burn to flash the bios. You will probably need some dummy files if you do it that way.

welll its a muppet x chip also known as Xshadow which is what i have inside it at the mo. Its a basic chip yeah but does the job. however i have put it in got the error 7 to go away due to a dodgy power supply issue
however when i load the original bios i get error 16 and 6

but when i boot it with the chip i get 16 and when i put in the slayers evox disk i have it doesnt even recognise my xbox's hdd wtf happend eeek!


help please help =]

If you get error 16, then the HDD is either not partitioned or you are missing the xbox dashboard on C is corrupt. I find it wierd that slayers does not find the HDD, it works in your other xbox? It is unlocked, right?

ahhh it was locked to my xbox thats why it didnt work :cool:
