Xenium Ice Trouble

Well....I have a buddy that screwed his hard drive.....HE formatted when he had NO CLUE what to do... lol Anyways...I have an old box that has the Xenium Ice Solderless chip installed and I used to use that to upgrade hard drives...anyways.....

I took the SCREWED drive and hooked in as a SLAVE took the dvd drive out....etc...etc.... and go through the wizard and I get an error has occurred EVERY TIME.....Now I have done this before and it worked fine.....DO I have to switch the jumper on my GOOD hard drive or just set the BAD one to slave......ANy help is appreicated

I would suggest that you take his hdd into your xbox without your own in it and run an installer disc. SlaYers or AutoInstaller Deluxe or something like that so that it gets a clean install and not one from your xbox just to be safe.

SO I take any old hard drive or his screwed up one and put it my GOOD xbox with the ICE chip? Then how do I run the slayers.....I assume that I still boot up the os from ICE....or no?? never went this route....

Take his formatted drive, put it in your good xbox and run SlaYers. You have the BIOS on the chip so it will boot the disc if there is a disc in the drive when you start the xbox.

So insert SlaYers and do all the installations... :)

ohhh...ok....so even if the drive was messed up and will not boot ...slayers will fix it...I dig...Thanx.....
Oh...I downloaded the AUto Installer Deluxe.....I assume that will be ok too

Yeah, use AutoInstaller Deluxe, its great... :)

Well I dl the Auto installer and burned the iso onto 3 different discs and three different xboxes and they all say unknown discs....hmmmm....and when I plug another hard drive into my chipped ICE box it just gives me error 6 unless I boot to the Ice OS and then there are not any options to help me....Weird...I must be doing something wrong

EricCamper 10-06-2006 14:12

Ok.....Well. I always burn isos with record now....But I repacked the iso and then burned with decrypter...as per instructions.. lol.....and my GOOD bod boots up the discs.......But when I take the bad HD and try and boot it up...it just goes to error 6 IMMEDIATLEY.....I even boot to the OS and I hit a dead end......Again...am I missing something.....Should I update the bios on the chip or something....and if the naswer is yes....then some instructions would be awesome...Gonna play a litt Table Tennis 360 while I wait...THanx

Well might be so that the BIOS you're using is not set up in order to boot from disc first and HDD after that.

Most bioses are unless you edit them yourself. As for guides I would recommend http://www.teamxodus.com/modules.php...ownload&cid=13.

Also make sure to add some dummy file to AutoInstaller Deluxe. Problem is that mostly the xbox expect to see discs with more content than 1gb or so, so adding a 1gb dummyfile would be smart.

Moreover make sure to burn it to a DVD-r to be on the safe side... With the dummy file of course... ;)

Latest update to AutoInstaller Deluxe has a lot of tools to insert dummyfiles and so on.

Recommended bios would be EvoX M8Plus Multi1.6 for 1.6/1.6b xbox's or X2 4983 for 1.0-1.5.
