Quake 4 1.2 Crack?
 

I'm looking for a crack for the 1.2 version of the Quake 4 patch, but I don't see it at Gamecopyworld or Megagames. Anyone know where I can get it, or even how I can create it? Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with hex editing programs.

the latest quake 4 patch removes the safedisc 4 protection. you require a valid key to play online thou...

No kidding? Well, that explains it. We're talking about the 1.2 release right? Not the 1.0.4?

Yes. Once removed (1.04) it is very improbable to reapply the copy protection. I played the game with v1.0 and the crack and did not apply any update, so :)

Have not think of this.

(Me neither, but I realized phil8900 is right: there's no need to remove the CD-key check if you - and everyone else in the LAN party, too - have your own...)

BUT still, an OS FIX is required for the 1.04 and aboves as they DON"T launch on older systems, Joe.

He would have mentioned an OS fix, but he clearly described it as a 'crack', so I assume it was some kind of online-check-fix ;)

Online check fix has to be disabled when running the game @W98 coz the game checks the key at the beginning of the launch process and it takes ages to do that on the old OS.
