Xbox Mod Chip Problem

I have my V1.5 XBox modded, and it has been for over a year. It has always worked fine up untill about 2 days ago. Now, when the modchip is turned on, it frags. If it is turned off however it boots. The chip is the Xecuter 2 Pro. Is this fixable ? I have no knowledge of installing modchips, I had mine done by a local guy who is now out of business. I just want it to work again, because its the one system that i play constantly. Thanks to all who reply.

If it is attached via pogo pins, then most likely they have slipped out of place. If it is soldered, then a wire has probably come loose and needs to be re-soldered. I doubt that the chip is damaged physically. Open your xbox and look how it was attached.

Thanks for your reply. But like I said before, I have no knowledge of how to solder, or of anything pertaining to installing a modchip. I dont even know where or how to open an Xbox, and if I figured it out, I would certainly not be able to put it back together correctly. Any suggestions on who i might could send it to ?

Sorry, I have no idea. If you can't solder, then there is always a hot glue gun. Usually you want to spare electronics because of heat, but the xbox will be ok.

It is probably going to cost you a lot to have the thing looked at; almost the price of a new modded box, after shipping and time. If it is a pogo-pin mod, then it will cost you 90 bucks for someone to spend 10 seconds poking an object with their finger.

I suggest that you look at tutorials to opening an xbox. Take out the dvd and HD drives, then post some images of the mobo and modchip here. It wouldn't hurt to try before you send it in, especially if soldering is not needed.
