Sacred Plus (NA version) with gore enabled.
 

Hi,

I bought Sacred Plus from an online retailer recently (I got the jewel case version by accident...damn!) and am trying to get the full version working with Gore enabled.

I tried the Gore patch available on GCW and it patched it to the UK version, but after installing the UK SP addon and latest UK patch it wouldn't read my CD-Rom (kept saying it wasn't in the drive, even when I tried to start if from Autorun). I then tried using the no-CD exe and with some fiddling (needed a patch to get rid of a Kernel error) got it to load w/o the CD. But in the character screen the graphics were messed up, and when it loaded to the start of the game the screen went black (as stayed that way).

Anyway, the summary ;) :

How do you get the NA version Sacred Plus running with Gore enabled. I don't really care whether or not I have to use the NA retail CD.

I'm trying to run it on an Win98SE PC, but I also have access to a WinXP version.

EDIT: Yes I've searched the forums and found the big Sacred thread, but it didn't really touch on the Gore patch...and ultimately it didn't help.

Do you have the Original Sacred game?
I Know that sacred plus is a patch that updates te game to version 1.8:) and it's free and you said you bought it hmm:)
Install The Original Sacred Game
Apply Sacred Plus and the Ratail Patch For Sacred Plus.

There is a retail version that gets you Sacred Plus (v. 1.8) in N. America. It doesn't say it on the box, but the CD drive image says Sacred Plus and it is version 1.8 (out of the box).

What I'm trying to do is get "Gore" enabled ala the European versions of the game. There was supposed to be some trick where you used a "Gore" patched (found on this site) that converted the N. American version to the UK version, then you used the International English patch and all was well. I can't get it to work with my copy of the game.

Has anyone succeeded (and how)?
