Can you use your dvd player as an mp3 player ???

Is it possible to, and how can you set up a DVD to play all your mp3's

My idea - I'm a guy who plays all my music on my computer, all mp3's. But it takes ages to load a computer and if you use a laptop you're likely to be stuck with naff speakers..

I would like to load all my mp3s to a DVD with the setup to play and arrange them like on Windows Media Player. The Library would load up faster than a computer and i'd use good speakers. PLUS i could use a remote to control playback. A Bonus would be visualisations and album art but that wouldn't be a priority.

Does anyone know how to do this??

Thank you

Yes it is, you can even put them in folders for each Artist/Album.

Nothing special required, just burn as a data compilation.

Visualisations is not something you can simply port over, maybe some newer players have it built in.

I intended to use the dvd on my TV. The reason i want to be able to do this is so i can load all my music quickly without the slow loading of windows.

If i made a data DVD will i be able to create playlists?

thanks again for your help

Not sure about playlist, you could create a mixed folder. As far as your DVD player goes just make sure it supports mp3’s and you will be fine. Like the above poster mentioned, you can put them into separate folders and browse them on your machine.

Check your DVD player user manual.
Most of the DVD player can play MP3 CD, I'm not sure about Mp3 DVD

If you don't have the manual, go to their web site.

or just burn it and see... only $.25 a disc right

As a few of the others said, make sure it is mp3 compatible.. It will say either on the dvd player itself with an MP3 logo or definately in the user manual.. If it supports the mp3 file format it will read it from either a dvd or a regular cd.
It works on most of the newer and even cheap dvd players.

And if your DVD player doesant play mp3's, you can author a compliant dvd with several different tools to play them with menus, cover art, etc.
