Possible Virus in Trainer on Gamecopyworld!!!
Hi I just downloaded the trainer +3 for X men Legends 2, when I first ran a virus scan on it while it was still in zip form it found none. But when I used winrar to decompress it, Nortons Realtime found a trojan Horse, Hopefully some MOD can remove it from the site quickly so others don't get hacked!
Thanks Sirelf |
um do it again with either avg or trend micros online scan, cos norton is about as useful as a chocolate tea cup
|
I hear a lot of people complain about Nortons! Personally Ive never had a problem with it in 5-6 years, ive 'never' had a virus in that time! But yes it can give a few false reports but this is better than not giving the right reports when needed. ;)
BTW I think you are drinking your tea from the wrong cup! :p |
Nortons is notorious for its false trojan alarms.
What is more I do a fair business removing virii from nortons protected machines. |
The trainers created with TrainerMakerKit use a dll-file, which some trojan also use. So some AntiVir is reporting the trainer as trojan.
If i remember correctly, the dll-file was: \WinXP\System32\H@tKeysH@@k.DLL . The file is only there, when you have started the trainer. |
Thanks for the info, I figured it might be something like that, but with all those wack jobs out their making viruses I figured better be safe and post,
|
There have been more and more virus alerts lately than ever before... but in all cases it was a false alert. Even McAfee is complaining about exe packed files. that is about 30% of all trainers!
|
Yeah unfortunately, AV's have been causing false alarms on files packed with free public packers.
As some virii have come packed with these, like Yoda, UPX etc Silly really |
