bios hang up if I unplug power
 

I want to unplug the power cable because i want to turn off my dvd rom, but when I do this my bios (Gigabyte K8Vt800) hang up and wait something bacause the ide cable are still connected.
I can't everytime unplug the ide cable, i want to unplug only the power cable but if I unplug only it, bios stops and wait.

how can i do?

Do you have your IDE Detection set to AUTO (in bios)

When you remove the power from your drives, they are totally powered off so they can not be detected as anything just by having the flatcable connected!

If it still happens upgrade your bios to the latest version

ok but how I must set my bios? NOT AUTO but manual?

I wonder why you wanna unplug your drives (guess due to Starforce method) when you still have the original cd...
