How to make a CD backup of BF2

How I made a back up "Instal Disc 1" of BF2: (run cd to launch the game)

To my surprise, this actully worked! I had many coasters from failed attempts. These results may or may not work for you because each pc system is different.

2-Windowns XP Pro SP2 Build 2600
3-Burner: Plextor PX-708A firmware v1.10 04/08/05
4-Blank CD: Imitaion CD-R
5-Game: BF2 (3 CD version) updated to patch v1.02

Click FINISH!!

Using your back up CD of BF2 CD 1

My Plextor Drive has trouble "reading" the newly created back up CD. 50% of the time I get the following error:

"Bf2.exe error window: BF2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close....."

I can sometimes get Plextor drive to launch the game successfully when the drive is in the middle of its spinning cycle (hold down left shift key) and click on the desktop BF2 icon to play the game.

My other Drive: Sony CD-RW CRX216E has NO trouble reading and running the newly created back up CD. This drive works 100% of the time.

I see many many posts of "how do I?" with out any details of actually making the settings changes. If these instructions help make the changes in Alochol and you are successful in making a back up of the BF2 CD1, then........ENJOY THE GAME!!

DVD edition for me all the way :D

I have a 3 cd version as well bought on the first day of release in Australia. The guy said they had sold out of all the DVD versions and the only difference was in the installation being split over 3 discs.

The world doesn't revolve around the UK and your local computer shop DABHAND.

None of this helps me solve my problems of not being able to execute the BF2.exe file from the day I installed the damned thing. Only way around it was the NoCD.exe but since version 1.02 it's been rendered useless. Mini Images don't work as they still need to access the exe file to kick in.

Too suspicious by far some people, without real foundation.
I remember a comment in a thread accusing me, it got locked so I couldn't reply.
Get yer facts right before accusing, you know who!

It's possible the mini image isn't compatible for the CD version, even though the one I'm using says no CD image.
I know the BLeH one works for me mounted in an Alcohol virtual drive (ver 1.02), DVD version.

Yeah but you were guilty, and like I said in the post before, to read all the posts. I did say "I was thinking about the 4cd one" so I did correct myself.

The "Battlefield 2 [ALL] No-CD/Fixed Image #1 23-06-2005 JontMaster" works for me moounted in an Alcohol virtual drive (ver 1.02) CD version with safedisc emulation turned on.

As a side note, BF2 and battlefied 2 is not included in the GCW index and is hard to find without searching.

I seen the thread in question, and what I said was to the original poster and not yourself. Go back and read it.

Hmm isn't this site dedicated to copying games, making a copy of the original in order that it can be kept safe?
GameCopyWorld, that does mean to copy and or play without the original yes?

So please stop acting like you're the personal representative of the RIAA or whatever body is out there. To keep us from protecting OUR property, that is the medium containing film, game, application whatever we PAID for and would not be replaced should it get damaged from everyday usage.

Is this site here to help us combat this, if not what is the point of this forum?
Warez or not, you are in breach of copyright law by helping in anyway full stop.

Wrong end of the stick... There which made me very suspicious of you, the way you posted was very pro-warez, hence why I replied to that in the way I did in that thread where the post was quoted from.

I dont say I know-it-all, I dont intend to flame, but my experience only bigheaded people feel the need to call someone a "Know-it-all" when they are backed up into a corner.
