Windows XP Pro 64 Problems With Daemon + Alcohol 120%
Hi,
sorry if this is in the wrong section, if it i apolgise and please could you move to the correct Section, Thanks very much. Now for my problem... I Just got Windows XP Pro x64 Edition, and 1stly i noticed my Drivers dont install properly as there not supported by my OS. Then i install Daemon Tools, and it comes up with an Error, then i tried to install Alcohol 120%, it came up with the following Error: Internal Error 25001. 25007 (0x61AF), -536870347 (0xE 0000235) Then followed by: Installation Ended Prematurely Because of an error. Is this an Error due to my Operating System, or is it a PC Side problem, i have found that daemon tools isnt supported untill next Version due out sometime in the future, but the problem with Alcohol 120% im not to sure.. If you have x64 edition, could you please tell me how you got around it or what program you used, im starting to dread getting it, i wasnt even warned it wouldnt support things... Thanks for you time, Much Apreciated -cotch |
alcohol does not support 64 bit, stated on their forums
daemon (current version) is not 64 bit either, thus it will not work as the 64 bit system only allows 64 bit drivers, daemon tools 4 will supposedly be 64 bit compatible but we shall have to wait and see |
yeah both progs are not supported. I
|
Both of them will have a 64bit version soon. Be patient.

i reinstalled XP Pro, i can see Windows XP 64 being very useful in the future but not just yet, once more programs support it i shall convert over :)
thanks for info. |
Programms don't have to support 64bit.
32 bit programs run fine on XP64. No problem there. The problem is drivers. 32 bit drivers don't work. You need 64 bit drivers. Because of that, a programm that needs to a speciffic driver will not run unless a 64 bit version of that driver is availible. Since a Virtual CD-drive requires a driver, D-tools and alcohol need to update their drivers for XP64. Currently the only 64 bit Virtual CD-drive that I know of is Filedisc, but D-Tools 4 should be realeased soon and will include 64bit drivers. |
