BF2-Unable to mount image after update

I installed the game from original CDs to the hard drive, then immediately ran the BF2 update patch from EA Games.

I can't get the CD image to mount properly - I just get an error message about having a modified version.

I've tried creating the image using the latest Alcohol 120% (SafeDisk 2/3), and also using Clone CD (latest version).

Has anyone successfully used an image after the patch has been updated?

If so, what EXACTLY did you do to create the image, and how exactly did you mount the image?

Did you use Alcohol 120% or Clone CD?
What were the precise settings used?
Where did you burn the image to, and where do you mount it from?
Have you successfully mounted it over a network (from a mapped drive)?
Did you create a batch file to mount the image and start the game?

In case anyone is looking to criticize, don't. I own a licensed Alcohol 120%, licensed Clone CD, and 7x licenses of BattleField 2. I am installing onto 6x computers using valid purchased CD Keys.

As a side note, I find online play to be very laggy (maybe not enough servers) - in fact it's almost pathetic if you compare the performance with UT2004. And the stupid movies at the start and loooooonnnnnngggggg loading times of the maps makes me yank out my hair in frustration.

Dont want to sound so wary.

But if you dont know how to mount an image, why did you buy alcohol.

You just mount with either Alcohol or Daemon Tools. But your drive must be able to read RMPS. Or it wont do well making a working image, and do it at slow speed.

If that fails, you should have 7x media for your 7x licenses

Of course I know how to use the tools. Try just answering the question if you know the answer.

Need I explicitly say that I used Alcohol 120% (expert install) to rip the image using SafeDisk 2/3 at 8x reading speed to the local drive, then tried to mount it using Daemon Tools with SafeDisk enabled, and it failed?

With that said, does anyone know why it is not working properly? And if anyone has successfully created the (NOCD) image and made it work after the BF2 patch was installed, please elaborate how this was accomplished.

Note, I have no intention of using my original CDs in the drive - anyone who suggests this is the right thing to do is IMHO not a real gamer. It's too much hassle and the disc will eventually become damaged from inserting and removing it.
