DVD-RW wont read name of disk ??
Hi all..A small prob (i hope). Basicaly when i insert a DVD or CD my reader dosent tell me the name of disk inserted ?. ie If i insert game disk 1 of 3 disk one should be called something like Sims2_1 (_1 meaning disk 1). When ever i insert a game disk my reader just says DVD-RW. ??
I could do with a hand in being able to get me DVD-RW showing disk names when disk is inserted. (for backing up games etc). I sometimes need to know the disk names so i can re-name a blank disk the same so my backed up games will instal. Prob something simple. (its not SF related as i havent had one SF game on my PC). |
This is windows losing its autoplay settings I think, it does it all the time on my PC as I disable the Autorun feature!
I found a little utility called 'Autofix' that may help: Code:

@ BarryB. Thanks for the heads up. I actualy had a thought along those lines myself but assumed that once i started the installation then the disk name would be readable at that point but it isnt ?. I will look at link you provided..thanks..

Downloaded the auto-fix app you provided link to and hey presto all sorted..Thanks.. (this makes backing up so much easier) :)

Hey, glad it worked :)
You may have to keep running it periodically though as Windows will f*ck it up again, guaranteed :D |
