Questions about HD Loader
 

First question...Is there a way to put directories on the HD Loader game select screen, Example: Sports games, Racing Games, etc...

Also, I have read in other forums that it is possible to patch the HD Loader to make it compatible with Hard drives larger than 120 gigs. I also read that you can put custom pictures for the background for the HD Loader. My confusion comes when it said that you need a downloaded image to patch and such. I bought the official HD loader and don't have a pirated version of the software. Has anyone successfully patched their HD Loader and if so how did you do it successfully. Thanks for the replys.

The original disc doesn't have a .elf file so not that I'm aware of...

Ok...I think I figured out the patch to make it accept HDs larger than 120 gigs and a way to put custom pics in your HD loader, but I'm still wondering if it is possible to make individual directories for different games? Maybe you would have to use a HDD tool or something. I would love to just enter the "Shooting Games" directory so I wouldn't have to distinguish on the long list which games are Guncon2 compatible and what aren't.

Could you please explain how to put custom pictures in the HD loader screen? Or at least, link me to where you found out...

Well I thought I found out.... When I went to test in the PS2 it wouldn't completely boot. See the thing is I am getting most of my info from http://www.ps2-scene.org/ because this forum really doesn't talk about tweaking with the HD Loader at all. (you can see by the number of replies) However this is one subject about the PS2 that I consider myself a newb and I'm trying to do what every newb should do, search the site, read the stickies etc... but I'm only getting bits and pieces about how to accomplish this. I don't wanna be flamed, I'm not that newb that is post happy and doesn't experiment for himself...but when you have gone through 15 CD-Rs that are all wonderful beverage coasters you feel like you should suck it up and post.....

Wow don't think I've ever ps2 vented like that... :D
