CloneDVD2, DVDRegionFree, DVD9 Burning

Hey all, I just got an external DL DVD9 Burner and I wanted to give it a shot. I have CloneDVD2 and DVD Region Free. I have backed up tons of my DVD's but have always refrained from the longer movies because of quality loss. For instance, if I were to stip out all I could with Lord of the Rings Two Towers it still is around 48% quality burning to one disk. This is why I grabbed a DL burner.

I insert the DVD into the DL Burner and beging the ripping process and all goes fine. The problem is when I put the blank disk into the burner when the time comes CloneDVD2 just basically keeps saying please insert blank disk.

I see toward the bottom of the screen there is a drop down menu where I can change from DVD5 to custom. I could have sworn that used to say DVD9, but maybe that was in my CloneDVD program prior to me getting CloneDVD2.

I even tried to burn an .ISO file that I have (xbox game) and it still wouldn't recognize the disk. I can use DVD+R's fine..not problem, but DVD+R DL just wont go with CloneDVD

Any ideas?

Don't get too excited, I'm probably not helping you much, but was about to ask a very similar question................................

I'm running version 2.4.3.5
and on my dropdown I have
DVD+R DL
(no DVD 9)

I just ordered a plextor internal DL burner
and I use AnyDVD in conjunction with CloneDVD2 (for what that's worth)

Haven't got it yet
so I was just about to ask if CloneDVD2 would recognize
and if I'd see an improvement in the compression.........

I assumed (based on the dropdown that I have) that it would at least burn

Hopefully someone more knowledgable than both of us will answer

but if not
keep me posted
as I will you
we will prob figure it out sooner or later
:)

what version are you running ????????????????
