Couple of games won`t boot

Hello,

I have some problems with booting games. The last 3 games I burned won`t boot anymore. Ps2 starts you see the logo, than you see the logo of the game but it hangs at that point. I burned the new harry potter yesterday but with no luck. Is there maybe some sort of copy protection? The Ps2 is modded with a messiah. One of the first ones.

Sounds like a media issue, what brand are you using?

I used memorex and verbatim. But i don`t think it has something to do with the media while the laser doesn`t have any problems with booting up but when the game wants to load further evrything just stops. No clicking or something.

Sounds Odd. Well, theres no protection on games so it's one of three things:

1. Bad media. Try using any dvd-r which is ritek dye based (i.e Traxdata, Ritek etc)

2. Something wrong with burn process. This could be the software yr using to back up the game (Best software is Record Now Max or DX), The way yr backing up, i.e never on the fly, always make image first then burn image back, don't use computer while burn process is going on (ever with buffer underrun protection).

3. Yr ps2 laser is beginning to struggle to keep up. It might be that running a cleaning disc through will sort the problem or by taking the lid off and manually cleaning the lens with sum qtips and sum cleaning alcohol, alternatively if that don't work there are sum adjustments that can be carried out to the laser which might bring it back to life. For a detailed guide on laser adjustments see "Shadowknyghts" signature and follow the link there.

Having said all that if theres a disc reading issue then the logo usually comes up and then the system goes back to the browser screen or a message "read error" comes up so it might also be that one of yr modchip connections isn't the soundest connection ever.

I would clean the laser, review yr backing up method and try the media recommended at the top of this post and if that doesn't sort things then look at the other options.

Hope this helps, regards :D
