problem with matrix infinity

I've done a lot of reading before asking my question, but not seen nothing that could help me, so this is my prob, i've install a matrix infinity on a ps2 v9, and everithing was going ok, plugue the ps2 and boot ok and play real game no prob, but if i put a copy (dvd or cd game) he always ask for a media compatible with ps2, so i was thinking my matrix didn't work, so i tried to update the firmware on the matrix, and it work (change it to version 1.02)but i had to press on the reset button until the blue button open to see the cd of the firmware,it didnt start like it suppose flawlessly like they said on the site of the matrix, i even tried burning with nero, copytodvd, clonecd, and still dont work, the only thing i can think of is the cable we took to do the install (ide compu cable that we strip)because it work just great it's flexible, but i don't want to redo the all process, maybe my matrix didnt do it's work...
anywais any good idea would be apreciate
thank's

Geez man, You pay the extra cash for a matrix infinity then strip down computer wire for the installTake that crap out of the console and buy some kynar like the instructions tell you. Also read the stickys. Lots of tips there.

Ok i've done a v10 ps2 today and yes it worked just liked suppose to (thank god) and yes i took real wire :D maybe that was my prob, now just got to give the v9 a try, but can i say that i'm not to happy to redo the all process,my eyes cries hehehehe
keep you updated and thanks for the advice

You may not want to redo the install on the v9 but that is the safest thing to do. If you keep trying to boot backups you may blow a fuse, put it down until your rested then redo it.
