DVD Burners and DVD Media

I just bought a modchip and now I want to buy a DVD burner and some blank DVD to backup my games. I just wanted to know if there are some DVD burners/media that are known to work or not work with backuped xbox games. Any links or info on which work and dont work would be greatly appreciated. FYI my xbox is a version 1 if it depends on what version you have.

Drives really do not matter. I like Sony and Pioneer my self. Most people will back be up with the Pioneer as they make solid burners.

Media dose not matter so much either. I've never had a problem with Verbatim or Memorex. Ritec is always good to go with. But make sure you buy a burner that burns -R and your blank media is -R as well.

so your telling me it has to be -r... why is this? my friend is buying a computer that has +r... will that work? in addition does anyone know where to buy the equipement to install a x ecuter 2.3 chip?

+r will work but i would not even bother with another + format burner. - r are more reliable cheaper and more compatable with other equiptment ie home dvd players/ ps2 / xbox etc.

Yeah -r is my choice although for burner I went with LG

I know Pioneer makes a good one as well but the LG I bought does all media even dvd ram and cost a low 160$ Canadian subtract 30% makes it about 115$ us brand new

My XBOX and PS2 backed up games, all range from DVD + - R's and RW's, and they all work fine on all those systems. I used to own one of the early HP 100i dvd burners that only burned DVD+R media. About a year ago I bought a Pioneer DVD+-R/RW Burner, and that thing is just awesome! Go Pioneer!! (Waiting for the Dual Layered Burners to be released!) mmmmmm........:D
