Newb to the beginner of Game Cube Modding with questions
Well i was recently considering buying a gamecube and modding it, but i still have many un-answered questions
1. What gamecube should i buy? 2. What items will i need to mod my game cube 3. How do i back-up game cube games? 4. What type of media will i need to burn the games 5. Is it pricy? 6. Does the freeloader also load back-ups ? Well if anyone could answer these that would be great. |
1. What gamecube should i buy? any gamecube
2. What items will i need to mod my game cube? none, you cant mod your gamecube but there is a way to play backup games by using PSO(Phantasy Star Online) or Action Replay and BBA(Broadband Adaptor). 3. How do i back-up game cube games? hook up your PC to gamecube and start up PSO with the ripper.dol 4. What type of media will i need to burn the games? you could burn it but wont be able to play it without a modchip. 5. Is it pricy? not really, should cost around $70 6. Does the freeloader also load back-ups ? no it doesnt. but you wont need it to as the PSO method allow you to play all region backups |
How do you play the games if you can't burn them?
through the gamecube you copy an image of the game to your computer and play it through a cable connected one end to the computer and the outher end to the gamecube read above for more info
How does speed compare to a disc? (Comparing runnning a game on gamecube off you're computer, to the speed of a disc)
mostly fmvs slow down or games with alot of music, other than that. the gameplay is okay. some games dont even boot up, but thats why you play the original copy.
So it's not very reliable?
you can play most games without much problem but with a few youd have difficulty
Overall if i were to buy a gamecube and use this method do you think it would be worth it ?
its not worth buying a gamecube with PSO + BBA to play backup games. But it is worth buying a gamecube to play original own 1st party/exclusive games.

Sorry, but in my book $50 for a game usually isn't worth it..... $100 for the gamecube then $50 A gamer (and i don't like most game cube games but some are cool), then memory cards, then controllers....
Well i can see you're not open to the whole not paying for a gamer.... I would appreaciate another opinion Bushwhick2002 Don't have a reply trying to counter me... just forget about it we all have our own opinions |
How do you hook a gamecube up to a PC anyways?
Ethernet from gamecube to router to to pc's NIC card, and use PSO exploit...
