DOH! New PS2 crapping out
Ok, so I purchased a white PS2 (racing pack) when i was in Thailand cuz it looked really cool. It was modded to accept all region DVDs and to play "non-factory" games. The unit played fine for like a day and then all of a sudden it appeared to have lost power and the reset light turns on. So now it runs for like 5 minutes and then powers off with the reset light flashing. I know this could be a number of problems but maybe somewhere has some insight for me or maybe a local shop that someone can recommend. I am located in Southern California in the LA/Torrance area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know if your fan turns on?

You know that's the first thing i thought about... an over heating problem. My computer used to do that all the time. This is my first playstation so I am not too familiar with it, i do not hear or feel a fan. Is the fan on the left hand side were the vents are?

Your fan is in the back of the ps2. Youll see a round vent in the back next to the power insert. Try powering your ps2 on with the round vent facing you. If you cannot see/hear the fan spinning then maybe thats your problem.

the fan is located next to the rocket switch:)
