whats wrong with magic series of chips?

I hear so many people saying its unreliable. I modded magic 3.1 and it boots 100%

so why is it unreliable? got some reasons to back up ur thoughts?
also, is magic V any better than magic 3.1?

What version ps2 did you mod with the magic 3.1? Are you saying you have never had to tap reset more than once due to getting a read screen? If not consider yourself lucky. And yes Magic V is better.

i did on a v7

and yes, when i say 100% booting, i mean 100% booting
never tap reset twice.

in magic V, there is a soldering point looks like a copper circle(3.3v). Do i solder it the same way i solder a point?

also, I did magic 3.1, it doesn't have a timing wire, how do i solder the timing wire on magic V?

Ever played Splinter Cell? Try getting to the second level. If you can then you don't have a real magic 3.1 cause it can't do it.

why not? and no i don't have that game. Does magic V fixes all the problem with magic 3.1? and magic V works with splinter cell and other games 100% direct boot?

v7 and higher systems added a new security feature which the magic 3.1 can't handle. There are several games that use this feature, such as Splinter Cell, Max Payne, and I believe Freedom Fighters.

The magic 3.1 has an onboard oscilator that is why...

The 50k does not seem to have one...

Solder the 3.3v same as you would any power point - just to be sure though - you do not solder to the same place as you soldered the 3.1 into! it is located differently.
