Clones of Laserlok CDs getting "worse" over time?

Two years ago, when I had first bought my CDRW (LG GCE8160B), I had made Clone CD (v3) images of some Laserlok protected CDs (Persian data CDs). At that time, the copies were perfectly running. Now, when I try to run the programs, the Laserlock protection refuses the cloned CDs. I tried to make images of the clones, or apply generic Laserlock patches, but then, unfortunately, I cannot read some data files needed for the programs: they are corrupted! So, the clones are useless now. And at the time of dumping from the originals, I did not keep the image files.

My question is, how is it possible for a cloned CD to work initially, and then, stop working later? Could it be due to the bad quality of the CDR media?

Thanks for the replies

Curious indeed. I have several backups over 5 yrs old and all still work in good order. Do you suspect virus activity, or would it be possible that files could have some sort of time stamp protection?

Why should you do that, if they are not working ??

Try to back up your ORIGINALS instead....
