Question about making back-ups

Hi all,

I've a question about making back-ups of the newer games like Max Payne2, Call of Duty, etc.

Is it possible to make a back-up copy of these games just by making an ISO file with an ISO making program (like Magic ISO)...

Thanks.

oh yeah but that take more time then ever. First you have to copy hole cd to the harddriver, then you have to pack it with iso stuff. Then you have to burn the iso. Why don't you just copy manulaly over to the harddriver, then burn it with Nero or something! Label the CD as the real ORIGNAL CD label. And you got your self a reading copy. Not function 1:1 but can be installed from.

Making an unusable backup pretty much kill the meaning of a backup...you want to keep your original and still play the backup copy, right?:D

Thanks for the replies...

So if I copy the CD to my harddrive then copy the files to a back-up cd and install the game I will be able to play the back-up.
I have to use a crack i think?

That's fine until you get a game whose installer checks for the original CD. Most earlier Westwood games and recent titles such as Silent Storm do this. Then a HD backup won't do, and you'll have to resort to using better copy methods.
