DMS3v2 vs M2 v1.33
Is the DMS3v2 as reliable as the M2v1.33?
|
Hmmmm....Anyone who has one would say it is. Anyone who has a messiah 2 will say not. Personally I fitted an M2 1.33b yesterday into my version 9 an it runnin like a dream, I have also pre ordered new DMS as price has come right down and installation is similar, so gonna give both a try.
Anyone with DMS ever had any problems? I know that it is still believed by most ps2 gamers that the Messiah2 is still the top chip for boot reliability ( Yep the PS2 killer chip) but DMS team always claim that DMS is just as reliable.......Give one a go...If not happy swap for the other////at £25 a pop it not that pricey. The other thing is r u gonna use all the features on the DMS. My ps2 is just used as a games console. Regards |
i would personally go for the dms.but i have to also agree with some the above. dms... the extra features if not now might in the future be of interest as for the m2 i would wait and see when more confirmed successes come forward and then make a decision

see my sinature for probs with dms3
the reason is now known certain wires on the dms3 must not crooss on install |
May I venture into this one?
When we see the DMS3 for v9 we'll know whether or not they have actually taken the clock off the chip and draw it from the PS2. if they have, I believe that it should no longer be sensitive to the wires D & E being crossed etc. When you clock at high speed (> 20MHz) then synchronisation, ground bounce and other factors all come into play. If you take the clock from the PS2 then it's only that wire and its characteristics you have to worry about. |
just install DMS3 v2 in a UK PAL v7 black and it works like a dream everythink i got boots first time dvd-r/rw movies,dvd-r,cdr-ps2,hk silver ntsc,ps1 backups all work like the chip ain't there even divx works first great chip
