PS2 backups -modchip?
 

Do I need a modchip to play dvd backups on my ps2?

I am new to this and just got my Plextor dvd recorder.

I also need advice on what software I can use. I have Nero 5.5, and a trial copy of Alcohol 120%.

U don't need a modchip to play dvd movie back-ups, however u do need special software to copy dvd movies (DVDXCopy, DVD Decrypter)

U do need a modchip to play ps2 dvd-r or dvd+r games. I would recommend Messiah 2 as it is the best.
