Play backups without a modchip

Yah, you heard me right. The 007:AUF gamesave hack carried it all the way. Seems that there is now a patch that when you load the gamesave, it boots to evox (and another that boots to Complex's !loader). Not every game works yet, and you can only play off the xbox HDD, but it's a start.

If you don't have a chip, then you will need a USB memcard to load the savegame off of (im not sure if AR ot Mega-x-key works). If you have a chip, then just pop the game save on your HDD and load it from there.

In my opinion though, this will be the downfall of xbox live. Not because this may be a way to pay backups on xbl, but because you might be able to play TRAINED backups on xbl. It will turn as bad as the PS2 online play. aaaaaaAAAAhhhhhhHHHH the nightmares!!!!

Hey, this is some cool info. Don't I wish I wasn't 3,000 miles away from home so I could try it out. <evil grin>

I don't think so. When a buddy and I tried this with Halo over LAN the game freaked out and said some thing about not being "in sink" with the host. My buddy was hosting on his XBox and I had Halo with the trainer running.
So unless each XBox was running the trained game I don't think it would work.

Yah, that's what I was thinking, but live might be different in the fact that it is a server, and not just mimicking the system link. I dunno, but as of now you get banned for going on XBL if you try, even if your chip is off.

And not all games work, in fact, very few work. As far as we know, there is no way to go onto xbl. The main benefit of the 007 hack is that you can play emulators and homebrew apps, without a modchip. Also, you can flash the tsop eliminating the need for a chip.
