Vice City problem - no video
 

Hey,

I've been playing a backup of vice city for a couple of weeks now.
I recently moved my ps2 to an other room and now vice city doesn't work any more. All I get is the ps2 logo when the disk starts, then the screen goes blue but I can still hear the audio.
Other backup games still work.

I tried the following to fix this problem:

-Opend the ps2 case to see if al wires were still attached. Some wires were loose, so I brought it to a guy who could fix it.
-Made a backup of the 1st VC backup

None of this worked, so perhapse someone here knows how to fix this problem?

I use a messiah mod-chip.

Vice City is a VERY laser intensive game....

Since it worked before you moved it, it sounds like the unit may have been bumped or dropped enough to disturb the laser....

What type of media do you have Vice City on....?

If its cheaper media that could also be a problem.....

I have Vice City on the following media:

Princo <- worked crap, long loading time
Speer <- worked very good
MMore <- newest backup, just the audio again but works for other games

What should I do to fix it, since other games with the Speer and MMore media still work??

If I understand correctly you have tried making a backup of a backup that you are not sure is working properly. Why don't you try making a new backup with your best media right from your original?:D

Before moving the ps2,

VC on the princo worked but had long loading time. Ingame loading times were like 1,5 to 3 minutes. So I made a backup to the Speer media which worked verry good with almost no ingame loading time.

After I moved the ps2 the princo nor the Speer VC worked, got audio only and the blue screen. So I made a new backup to the MMore media because I had no Speer DVD's anymore. But this one also doesn't work.

It STILL sounds like something happend when the unit was moved.....

If it was working before, and now its NOT.... Something happened in the middle.......

Take your ORIGINAL and make a new image and burn on TOP QUALITY media like Ritek.....

Yes I would try one more copy from a known to be working disc (aka the original). I would not expect a copy of a non working disc to work. Seeing how all other games work OK I would expect this to be a media issue. If the new copy on good media of the original does not work have your installer double check that all his connections are good.
